I want to be very clear about what happened.
I was minding my business. I was doing my workout, which I showed up for, which already deserves recognition. And then- unprompted, out of nowhere, directly into my personal airspace- someone said the word. I heard it. And I took it personally. And before my brain could file the full report on the situation, my body had already put the weight down and turned around.
Was it about the equipment? Sure. Fine. Allegedly. But I had already made the face. The whole gym had already seen the face. And I'm sorry, but I don't un-make the face. That's not who I am. I came here with a certain amount of energy today and it needed somewhere to go, and frankly this seemed like as good a direction as any.
So yes. I'm wearing a shirt about it now. Because I showed up, I made a scene I'm not even a little embarrassed about, I finished my whole workout on pure adrenaline, and I will be back on Thursday to do it again.
